i'm no longer with YWAM.
for those of you on my newsletter list, you've already received this update. [if you'd like to be on this more personal update list, sign up here]
after completing ywam austin's first discipleship training school, the leaders reevaluated and tweaked the direction they are going in. after much time seeking God on it, i realized my reasons for joining ywam austin were no longer fitting, and felt it was time for me to transition out.
i'm so thankful for my time there. it was definitely a useful step in my journey and so much was learned. however, i'm so excited and ready for this next step.
When I decided to come to Austin it was for a few main reasons.
1) to get as involved in anti trafficking work as possible.
2) to be in a community, living together, learning together, and loving God together.
3) to learn more about inner healing, how to walk alongside those who have either suffered deep trama or those who just know they aren't living the fullest life. This has always been huge on my heart, and ties into anti trafficking work as well.
also, i wanted to learn how to be a missionary in my own country. not just 'becoming a missionary' on a plane to asia, but learning how to truly live it out in daily life in my own culture.
these still remain my top desires, and i think they are the things i'm called to focus in on in this current season. a season of preparation for launching out, a season of being grounded, so i can take Jesus to the world and be the most effective i can be.
so, nicholas and i are currently taking a step back and deeply seeking Jesus on where He would have us in this next season.
stay tuned!
