Notes from DTS

I went through my DTS notes, and found a lot of good stuff....

If you think your heart is more broken by injustice than God’s (because He isn’t “doing anything”) then you don’t know Him enough.

Whenever God takes something away, He only does it so He can give you something better. He just needs empty hands.

It’s very important that we hear God for ourselves.

Peace is a sign we are walking in the will of God.

God’s voice is gentle, and will stop if we quit listening or become busy with ourselves.

Too much sin to enjoy God, too much God to enjoy sin.

Real love gives freedom to decide if you choose to love or choose not to love….free will.

Intimidation stifles gifts. If we ever feel intimidated and don’t use our gifts, someone misses out.

30 min devotion time - read bible for 10 min, pray for 10 min, read 2 Psalms.

Agape love is not a feeling you have, although feelings could follow. It’s a commitment you make, an activity you do, a stance you take towards someone.

Do What Jesus Did (DWJD) not What Would Jesus Do (WWJD)

Our response towards people (church setting or wherever) - Belong, Believe Behave (right way) Behave, Believe, Belong (wrong way)

Becoming all things to all people does not mean you become immoral, immodest, impure, etc, just to reach someone. It means you just LOVE them where they are.

Living in the fear of the Lord is when we change our behavior in response to God’s disclosing of Himself to us.

Observations should lead to questions, not judgments.

Instead of asking “What would people think if we ____?” ask “What would God think if we don’t?”

We want to experience things spiritually that cannot be explained rationally. Faith is key.

Our prayers can send angels out

Knowing God’s nature and character helps us pray.

God doesn’t overstep our will, He wants us to choose.

How to fight against bondage - be aware, hear God’s voice, act in opposite spirit.

Serve, worship, and obey God, not to make a deal with Him, but because He is worthy to be served, worshipped, and obeyed.

God doesn’t design something without first having a plan and purpose. If you were meant to be or do _____, you would have been created that way.

Dreams are the DNA of our soul.

The gifts and callings of God are irrevocable.

God is the potter, and sometimes He has to correct or smash problems, things that keep us from our destiny.

LIFE=RISK

The key to change is changing people’s hearts and minds, everything else will follow.

Look back on the ‘Ebenezer’ (meaning 'God helped') moments in our lives. See when God was faithful and know He will be faithful again.

Prayer is also waiting, contemplating, listening.

Worship is expressing how we feel, a way to feel His presence, thanking & praising, and being in awe of Him.

Worshipping in spirit and in truth is loving God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Without revelations, we just become religious.

If you don’t obey God, you don’t love him.

No God=No Joy. You can be a Christian and still not feel right, if you don’t believe and accept His love.

God has given us authority over the earth, when we are disobedient we forfeit that authority.

Decide to fall in love with Jesus every day.

Every place that Jesus went was different after His presence was there.

Go on outreach and just worship Jesus, opportunities will come to you.

Don’t fight against sin, just fight for God’s presence. (Where light is, darkness cannot stay)

God wants us to act and make a move, so He can surprise us, instead of waiting and wondering what He wants.

Don’t just say something isn’t okay after learning about it, and go on without doing anything… GO.

Do you really think God will send someone else, if you could be the answer?

Referring back to the bible often is the only way to stay on track.

Our only choice in hard situations - do we believe in God, or do we not?

The crucifixion would not have been enough, had there not been Easter morning.

There’s no area where His strength is not sufficient.

We must identify the ‘roots’ we have deep in our life that contradict God and His truth.

Intimacy - a loving reverence to God, submitting to Him

If we hold stuff back from God, we will always be at war in our spirit

If you want to live a wise life, discover what the fear of the Lord really means.
Wisdom - skill in living
Fear of the Lord - having God’s attitude towards sin, hating evil

Friendship with God is for those who fear Him

Steps to transformation - repent, renounce, replace

Speaking negatively over ourselves aligns us with the enemy and the lies He tells us.

Before you speak…T.H.I.N.K. is it….
T-Thoughtful
H-Helpful
I-Inspiring
N-Nice
K-Kind

Do you fear men or God?

When the Holy Spirit brings conviction, there’s always opportunity for change.

In the secret areas of our heart, we need revelation, then healing.

The enemy doesn’t take a vacation, and neither should your relationship with God.

Forgiveness is saying, “Yeah, this happened, but I choose to hand over to God the right to seek revenge.”

Release the anger, hurt, and pain we’ve felt, and choose to walk in freedom and forgiveness.

Unforgiveness brings torment inside, and requires God’s presence and power to act opposite.

Addictive behavior has it’s roots in seeking comfort and love apart from God.

No reformation of lifestyle leads to the roller coaster like spiritual life.

Revival of the heart happens when everything in life points to Him

Revival of the church leads to reformation. Reformation happens when churches take on the tasks of the King.

Not, “How many people can fit in the building?” but “How many people in the building are being lit on fire by the power of Jesus?”

Revival of the lost leads to transformation of society. Justice releases when the lost get revived and reformed.

We’ll never see the revival of the lost until we see the church reform around the bible.

Reformation without revival leads to dead religion.

All of hell can’t stop ONE revived and reformed heart.

When a deliverance generation comes, the children get pin pointed. (ex. Moses)
1/3 of our generation never made it out of the womb - abortion.

Fire of intimacy and love releases the fragrance of Christ in places that won’t see a breakthrough any other way. Equipped with that fragrance we could be the solution.

The cross wasn’t a job, He died there for LOVE. He didn’t die there so we could live a religious life, struggling with shame, depression, etc… He died to set us FREE.

The cross is the single greatest act of romance in human history.

Walking around carrying a limp dead body behind us is trying to pursue Christianity without freeing ourselves from our pasts. Sell the ‘shack’ to purchase the treasure.

Eden - ‘intimacy with God’

When God tore the veil, humans were once again allowed to experience Eden.

The garden of Eden lives in the hearts of those that are always surrendered to Him.

Until we understand our need for a Savior, we can’t understand how extravagant and needed the Savior really is.

As soon as you feel you deserve someone, you cheapen their love.

Christ overcame the world… where is this ‘overcoming’ in the Christians life?

We’ve embellished the sacrifice and diminished the gains.

How can we set the captive free when we ourselves haven’t been set free?

Repentance is shedding light on darkness.

No more false illusions of freedom - you’re either a slave to sin or a slave to righteousness.

Unoffended hearts - not letting circumstances and sin sink into our hearts - letting God be God.

God wants to move in the midst of destruction and chaos. He wants to redeem every situation.

Desperation unlocks miracles.

He doesn’t fit into our logic box, but He is ALL wisdom.

Unbelief can hold us back from stepping into our God planned destiny.

We spend our lives fearing failure, not willing to risk, even though breakthrough is waiting on the other side.

He’s either Lord of all or not Lord at all.

Live in the presence of God’s power.

Simple obedience changes history.
